Acoustic partitions for quiet rooms
Partitions with enhanced sound insulation for meeting rooms, practices and open-plan offices that need more quiet.
Acoustic partitions reduce sound transmission between two rooms noticeably more than a standard partition. We use insulated solid wall elements or double-glazed walls with an air gap, depending on whether daylight needs to stay in the room.
The solution is in demand wherever confidential conversations take place or concentration matters: meeting rooms next to an open-plan office, treatment rooms in medical practices, quiet zones in coworking spaces or phone areas. Wall height and the ceiling connection matter just as much as the wall material itself.
Trennwandprofis plans the wall build-up around how much quiet the room actually needs, not off a catalogue page. After a free on-site measurement you receive a firm quote within 24 hours, installation included.
Variants & systems
Acoustic solid wall
Insulated wall element with a mineral wool core and a sound-absorbing surface. Noticeably reduces speech, suitable for meeting rooms and practices.
Double-glazed sound insulation wall
Two panes with an air gap in a double profile, giving a significantly higher Rw value than single glazing. Used for meeting rooms with a transparency requirement.
Acoustic foam and absorber panels
Additional absorber surfaces on walls or ceilings, complementing the partition, reduce reverberation in the room. Useful in open-plan offices with many hard surfaces.
Technical key figures
| Sound insulation, solid wall | around Rw 38 to 40 dB |
|---|---|
| Sound insulation, double glazing | up to Rw 42 dB |
| Insulation material | Mineral wool in the wall core, density chosen for the required sound class |
| Ceiling connection | Floor-to-ceiling connection recommended for full effect without a sound bridge |
| Fire protection | EI30 version to VKF standard available on request |

Frequently asked questions
- What does an acoustic partition cost?
- The price depends on the sound insulation required: an acoustic solid wall sits below a double-glazed sound insulation wall. The extra effort over a standard wall sits mainly in the insulation and the more involved wall build-up. You receive a quote within 24 hours.
- How much sound insulation does an acoustic partition really provide?
- An acoustic solid wall reaches around Rw 38 to 40 dB, a double-glazed version up to Rw 42 dB. For comparison, a standard partition sits around Rw 32 dB, and every additional dB is clearly noticeable for speech.
- Is an acoustic partition enough for confidential conversations?
- At Rw 38 dB and above, normal speech in the next room is barely intelligible. For higher confidentiality we also recommend a floor-to-ceiling connection with no gap to the ceiling, which we advise on at the measurement stage.
- How long does installing an acoustic partition take?
- For a single meeting room we usually plan one to two working days. The floor-to-ceiling connection needs a bit more care than a standard wall, and we factor that into the quote.
- Can I add absorber panels instead of a new wall?
- Yes, if the wall itself is sufficient and only reverberation in the room is the issue, we install additional absorber surfaces on walls or ceilings. This is a quick addition but does not replace a missing partition between two rooms.
